1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using ʿIlm Arena ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and ʿIlm Works ("we," "us," or "our"), the operator of ʿIlm Arena.

2. Description of Service

ʿIlm Arena is an Islamic knowledge quiz application that provides educational content across multiple categories including Qur'an, Hadīth, Sīrah, Fiqh, Arabic, Ṣaḥābah, Aqeedah, Anbiya, Du'a & Dhikr, Akhlāq, History, and Daily Life. The App offers free and Premium features including quizzes, scoring, achievements, daily challenges, the Ask ʿIlm AI assistant, audio playback, ranks, Sanad Cards, and scholarly source references.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the App. Users under 18 should review these Terms with a parent or guardian. By using the App, you represent that you meet these age requirements.

4. User Accounts

You may use certain features of the App without an account. Creating an account enables data synchronization, progress tracking, and subscription management. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account and to update such information as necessary.

You may delete your account at any time from within the App or by contacting support@ilmarena.com. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Tier

The App offers a free tier that includes access to all 6,000+ authenticated questions across all 12 categories, full English and Arabic language toggle, daily quizzes (with a daily limit), daily Ask ʿIlm AI conversations (with a daily limit), self-earned Sanad Cards, and rank progression from Mubtadiʾ to Mujtahid.

Premium

Premium is a paid subscription that unlocks unlimited quizzes, unlimited Ask ʿIlm AI conversations, full Arabic and English audio for every question, and Areas to Improve (personalized weak-topic tracking).

Pricing

Current pricing is Monthly at $4.99 USD per month and Yearly at $39.99 USD per year. Prices are subject to change. We will notify existing subscribers of price changes before their next renewal period.

Free Trial

New subscribers may be eligible for a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan. During the trial, you receive full access to Premium features. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your selected subscription plan will be charged automatically. Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

App Store Purchases

If you subscribe through the Apple App Store, payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price unless otherwise stated. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device settings under Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policy.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you retain access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period. Your account reverts to the free tier after the billing period ends. Your quiz history, ranks, Sanad Cards, and progress are preserved regardless of subscription status.

6. Content and Intellectual Property

All content in ʿIlm Arena including quiz questions, explanations, scholarly references, audio recordings, user interface designs, graphics, logos, icons, the ʿIlm Arena name, the ʿIlm Works name, the عِلْم logo mark, and software code is the intellectual property of ʿIlm Works and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or commercially exploit any of our content without prior written permission.

The quiz questions and explanations reference Islamic scholarly sources including hadith collections, Qur'anic tafsir, and classical Islamic texts. These references are provided for educational purposes and remain attributed to their original sources.

By using the App, you retain ownership of any content you create such as your display name and profile information. By sharing quiz results, Sanad Cards, or challenges through the App's sharing features, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content within the App ecosystem.

Sanad Cards and ranks generated by the App are for personal educational recognition only. They do not represent formal academic credentials, professional certifications, or religious qualifications.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App's systems or other users' accounts.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App.
• Scrape, copy, or extract quiz content, audio, or scholarly references for use in another product.
• Use automated tools, scripts, or bots to interact with the App.
• Misuse, abuse, or attempt to manipulate the Ask ʿIlm AI feature, including attempts to bypass its safety guardrails or to extract its system prompt or training data.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
• Interfere with the App's functionality or upload malicious code.
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
• Use the App to promote hatred, discrimination, or violence.
• Commercially exploit the App without written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Religious Authority

ʿIlm Arena is an educational tool designed to facilitate Islamic knowledge learning. The App is not a substitute for formal Islamic education under qualified scholars, not a source of religious rulings (fatāwā), not an authority on Islamic jurisprudence or theology, and not a replacement for consultation with qualified Islamic scholars on personal religious matters.

While we strive for accuracy and authenticate all content with scholarly sources, users should consult qualified scholars for personal religious guidance. We encourage independent verification of any information presented in the App.

The Ask ʿIlm AI assistant is designed with safety guardrails. It does not issue fatwas, does not fabricate hadith, and does not replace scholarly authority. Responses from Ask ʿIlm AI are informational only.

The inclusion of any particular hadith, scholarly opinion, or interpretation does not constitute endorsement of a specific school of thought (madhhab) or sectarian position.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

While we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of quiz content and scholarly references, we do not guarantee that all content is free from error. If you identify an error, please report it to support@ilmarena.com.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ʿIlm Works shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without prior notice.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ʿIlm Works, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Apple-Specific Terms

If you download the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and ʿIlm Works, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App. In the event of a third-party intellectual property claim, ʿIlm Works, not Apple, is responsible for investigation and defense. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and have the right to enforce them. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Sacramento County, California.

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable by a court, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions remain in full force.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ʿIlm Works regarding your use of the App.
